The Truth about Smart Phones

A smartphone is the combination of a cell phone and laptop functions in to one pocket-sized device. It is no doubt that the popularity of smart phones is growing every day, in every age bracket, due to the many technology features it comes with. A smart phone actually has all the functions you would need for use and if there are more that you want to add, you can simply install your desired applications. Though they come with a lot of advantages, there are some facts that you need to know about them.

1. Their screens are small in size. This may be a difficulty if you have sight problems, as activities like email need a lot of scrolling on small screens in order to see all the information.

2. You should also know that though you get the services you would have got from your laptop, it has a limit. For example, you will never type as fast as you would using your laptop, as the smart phone keyboard is small and the keys are close together, although the arrangement is pretty much the same with that of a Tablet PC.

3. As handy and sleek as they are, they come with additional costs. Leave aside the cost of buying the gadget. You will need to spend some money every month in order to pay for the internet connection. The cost of the monthly subscription depends on your service provider. You may need to sign a longer term contract to save you a few coins, as long contracts normally come with discounts.

4. Poor website access. Smart phones use Wireless Access Protocol to access the websites and software is used to optimize the website to fit the small screens of smartphones, but the problem is that not all websites are WAP enabled. This will limit your access to certain websites, or you will have a poor display of the website with images missing and so on.

5. Home life and work life. Many people have been a victim of this, as they cannot draw a line between their work life and their home life, creating problems with their spouses. Just know when to work and when not to and you will be just fine.
All in all smart phones still remain the best option if you do a lot on the internet and you are always on the road.
